Thus, the Portuguese ceded Colonia del Sacramento and San Gabriel Island (south of present-day Uruguay) to Spain, plus the islands of Annobón and Fernando Poo in the waters of Guinea, in exchange for the Spanish withdrawal from the island of Santa Catalina. on the southern coast of Brazil.
